A Changed Man

I was looking at Nathan the other day and I was amazed at the changes that he has undergone in the last 4 months. The ENT and surgeon did such a wonderful job of repairing his jaw. Without the surgery to bring his jaw forward, Nathan would have had a trachea placed in his throat so he could breath. As awful as those 8 weeks with the distractors on were, I can't imagine having to deal with a trachea. I am continually reminded of how blessed we are to have modern medicine and such wonderful doctors caring for Nathan.

Nathan the day the distractors were taken off: (Notice how far his jaw was moved!)

Although there are scars on the side of his face still, every day they are getting to be a little lighter. I think as a teenager he may want to grow sideburns to cover them! He is getting to be such a cute little guy!

I just can't get over those eyes. He seems to talk to you with them. Those cheeks look sooo kissable too!
