Jake and I have been working with Elisabeth to teach her how to sing "I am a child of God". Ellie has been doing great at it; the nursery leaders in our ward say that she is just so cute when she sings it in class. Ellie was also excited that the children were singing it at General Conference this last weekend.
Yesterday, I really listened to her singing it. I was amazed at her simple sweet voice; I had tears in my eyes forming until she sang these words:
I am a child of God
And He has sent me here.
Has given me an earthly home,
With parents kind OF WEIRD.
I couldn't stop laughing! Jake nor I taught her the last sentence!
So who taught Ellie to sing?
Nolan the Soccer Player

On the advise of Nolan's pediatrician and teacher, we decided to sign Nolan
up for Soccer. He really seems to enjoy it, but only on his terms.

KIND OF WEIRD! haha that is SO funny! Ellie sings all the time while Im here. One day she had me turn on Enchanted and we had to fast forward to all the songs. She didnt want to watch the movie, just sing along with the songs! It was so cute!
What a great chuckle that I was able to have after reading your blog post. It was a hearty laugh that I needed at the moment. Don't we love those little ones that just come up with things that we don't know where they came from. Honestly, I didn't teach her that during our moments of togetherness. I just know that she has a wonderful little voice and that she knows many of the songs. I am still trying to figure out the "hole" song that she keeps wanting to sing to me but that I don't know well enough to join along and sing. Sitting on Grandma's swing in the back is the best place to hear the singing from her little grand children.
That is absolutely hilarious!
You can't fault the child for singing the truth can you?
